Whoopie pies – what a fun name for a yummy desert….Described as a New England phenomenon…it’s said that its origins are the Pennsylvania Dutch Amish…the women would used leftover cake, make them into sandwiches with frosting as the middle! I experienced my first pie in Maine and I’m so happy I did because I’ve been making them ever since! I’ve experimented with a few different recipes
